According to the great scholar, K.P.N. Pisharady, great sages of the past planted a Kalpavruksham ('Wish-yielding tree) in Himalaya mountains.
The root of that tree is Aumkaaram, trunk is Gaayathri, branches are Vedaas, small branches are Vedaangaas, fruits are Puraanaas and Ithihaasaas'. Several people when get tired or disillusioned of the "samsaara-yaathra" or journey of life, come and rest under this Kalpavruksha.
Some people stay there for ever for the welfare of the world and eventually attain salvation, but some people collect the fruits, enjoys themselves and distributes among like minded and interested fellow beings!
