Lesson to learn- sharpen your instrument Famous philosopher J Krishnamurthy once narrated a story during one of his talks. It is an interesting story and I think it is worth sharing.   There was a wood cutter who was very good in the art of cutting wood. He joined a big business where they brought wood from the forest, cut and sold to the local people. He started working and the very first day he could cut ten (just a number) pieces. Next day he cut only six and third day he finished cutting only 5. Fourth day however hard he tried, he could cut only four pieces. The supervisor was watching this decrease in effectiveness of this new hired employee and signalled it to the owner. On the evening of the fourth day, owner called him and gave the wages for the four days he worked and told him not to come next day. Poor fellow did not understand why he lost his job. Deity of Dwaraka-  Our Guruvayoorappan Kaalayavana had this boon that he would not be killed by Yaadavaas.  Bhagavan was always very careful not to disturb the destiny of evil minded people.  (But He changes the brahmalikhitham or destiny of His devotees to make them closer to Him by giving fortune or misfortune) In the case of Kaalayavana, his father Gargamuni had the boon from Lord Shiva that his son would not be killed by Yadavas. Bhagavan respected Lord Shiva and conveniently connected the boon received by Muchukunda from Devaas to carry out the purpose of killing the Yavana.   Bhagavan had another longtime enemy Jarasandha coming just behind Kaalayavana. This is the time Bhagavan decided to move all his people who were unnecessarily suffering from the hardships and uncertainties of seventeen wars between Jarasnadha and Yadavas. കുചേലദിനചിന്തകൾ  ------------------------------ ------- നാളെ കുചേലദിനമാണല്ലോ? രാമപുരത്തുവാരിയരുടേയും കുഞ്ചൻനമ്പ്യാരുടേയും കുചേലവൃത്തം ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും കണ്ണു നിറയാതെ വായിക്കാൻ പറ്റാറില്ല്യ. ഇന്ന്, കുചേലൻറെ ഭക്തിയേയും ഭഗവാൻറെ ഭക്തവാത്സല്യത്തെയും കുറിച്ചോർത്തപ്പോൾ, അവിടവിടെ പലതവണകളായി വായിച്ച കാര്യങ്ങളും  പിന്നെ മനസ്സിൽ പൊന്തി വരുന്ന  ചിന്തകളും  കുറിക്കണമെന്നു തോന്നി. ഭഗവദ് കഥകൾ സ്മരിക്കുന്നതും പങ്കിടുന്നതും ഒക്കെ പുണ്യമാണെന്ന് ഭാഗവതം തന്നെ പറയുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ? അതിനാൽ ഭഗവാനോടുള്ള സ്നേഹത്തിൽ ഇട്ടു പരിപാകം ചെയ്ത എൻറെ ഈ ഒരുപിടി അവിലും ഞാൻ ആ പാദങ്ങളിൽ സമർപ്പിക്കട്ടെ. എല്ലാ പതിരുകളെയും ഭഗവാന്റെ കാരുണ്യം നെല്ലായി  കാണണേ, എല്ലാ കല്ലുകളെയും ഭഗവാൻറെ മാറിലെ നീലക്കല്ലുകളാക്കി മാറ്റണേ! ഭഗവാൻ ദ്വാരകയിൽ വസിക്കുന്ന സമയം. ദ്വാരകയെന്താ ? സദാ സോഹം സോഹം എന്ന് മിടിക്കുന്ന ഹൃദയമാണത്രെ ദ്വാരക, വിദ്യാരണ്യസ്വാമികൾ പറയുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ ദ്വാരക നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം തന്നെ, ഭഗവാൻ വസിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം. അവന്തിരാജ്യത്ത്  താമസിക്കുന്ന ഒരു സാധു ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ ആയിരുന്നു നമ്മുടെ കുചേലൻ. ശരിക്കുള്ള പേര് സുദാമാവ്. ദാമം  എന്നാൽ കയറ്. കയറാ

My mother is that person who fanned the most auspicious light lit by Bhagavan with in me. She did not specially bathe me, but she did bathe everybody who came to her, with love and compassion. She did not specially dress me, but she gave away dresses  to the the needy. She did not praise me, but she praised Bhagavan continuously. She  did not give me confidence, but she gave me confidence in the eternal love of Bhagaavan.  She did not give me lack of confidence, but she gave me lack of confidence in the reality of the ever changing world. She did not cheer me up for each and every action, but she did cheer up every body's compassionate actions. She did feed me. She fed me not only with food for my body, but with everything that is needed for my little lamp with in me to burn continuously even in the most terrible wind. She fanned it in such a way that it glowed more brightly during the darkest nights to guide me through the innumerable friendly and  dangerous,  paths

ഒരു ആദ്ധ്യാത്മിക തോണിയാത്ര അഥവാ A spiritual river-cruise. വിശ്വഭാഗവതപ്രയാഗിലൂടെ ഒരു ആദ്ധ്യാത്മിക  തോണിയാത്ര! പരിശുദ്ധ നദിയാണ് വിശ്വഭാഗവതനദി. ഈ തോണിയാത്രക്ക് ക്ഷണം കിട്ടിയപ്പോൾ ആദ്യം ഭഗവാനോട് നന്ദി പറഞ്ഞു. അർഹതയില്ല്യാത്തവരേയും ക്ഷണിപ്പിക്കുകയോ ?  അർഹതയുണ്ടാവാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുകയെങ്കിലും ചെയ്യട്ടെ എന്ന് കരുതിയായിരിക്കും ഭഗവാൻ അത് ചെയ്തത്. ലോകത്തിലെ പലസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും പലതോണികളിലായി  കൃഷ്ണപ്രേമികൾ ഈ യാത്രയിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നു. ഏഴ് പകലുകളും ആറ് രാത്രികളുമാണ് യാത്രയുടെ നീളം. ഒരു ചെറിയതും, പഴയതുമായ ജീവിതനൗകയുമെടുത്ത് എൻറെ ജീവിതസഖിയും ഞാനും യാത്രക്കൊരുങ്ങി. രണ്ടുപേർ മാത്രം തുഴഞ്ഞു 335  നാഴികകൾ പിന്നിട്ട് യാത്ര പൂർത്തിയാക്കാൻ കഴിയുമോ? ആശങ്കയും ആശയും പലതവണ പൊരുതി. അവസാനം ഭഗവദ് പാദങ്ങൾ മനസ്സിൽ ധ്യാനിച്ച് ആശങ്കയെ പുറത്താക്കി, ഞങ്ങൾ ഭാഗവതനദിയിലേക്ക് തോണിയിറക്കാൻ തീർച്ചയാക്കി. നദിയുടെ 335  നാഴിക നീളത്തെ 12 ഭാഗങ്ങൾ അഥവാ ഖണ്ഡങ്ങൾ ആയി തിരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. എല്ലാ ഭാഗങ്ങളുടേയും നീളം ഒരുപോലെയല്ല. ചിലതു ചെറുത്, ചിലത് വലുത്, അങ്ങനെ പലവിധത്തിൽ. ഈ നദിയുടെ പ്രത്യേകത, എവിടെ നിന്നു കേറിയാലും ആ ഭാഗത്തെ ആദ്യത
