ഒന്നാം അദ്ധ്യായം Line 51 through 100
യാതൊരു ദേവൻ-തന്റെ കാരുണ്യം കൊണ്ടു മമ 51
താതന്റെ താതന്മാരാം ധർമ്മജാദികൾ മുന്നം
വിക്രമം ഏറെയുള്ള ഭീഷ്മ-ദ്രോണാദി ഘോര--
നക്ര-സങ് കുലമായ കൌരവ-സേനാബ്ധിയെ
ഗോഷ്പദ-പ്രായമായി വേഗേന കടന്നുടൻ
പ്രാപ്ത-രാജ്യന്മാരായി സുഖിച്ചു വസിച്ചതും
ദ്രൌണി തന്നസ്ത്രാഗ്നിനാ ദഗ്ദ്ധമാം മമദേഹം
ക്ഷീണതയെന്ന്യേ പരിപാലിച്ചു പൂരുവംശം
സന്തതിനാശം വന്നു പോകാതെ പാലിച്ചതും
ഹന്ത ചിന്തിയ് ക്കിൽ കൃഷ്ണൻ തന്നുടെ കൃപയല്ലോ. 60
അങ്ങിനെയുള്ള ദേവൻതന്നുടെ കഥ കേട്ടാ-
ലെങ്ങിനെ തൃപ്തി ഭവിച്ചീടുന്നു മഹാമുനേ ?
ത്വന്മുഖാംബുജച്യുത--മാധവകഥാമൃ
നന്മയിലനുദിനം പാനം ചെയ്തതുമൂലം
നല്ലൊരു ജല-പാന-മാത്രവുമില്ലെങ്കിലും
ഇല്ലൊരു താപം എനിയ് ക്കേറ്റമെന്നറിഞ്ഞാലും."
ഇത്തരം നൃപൻതന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ടനേരം
ചിത്ത-മോദേന മുനിശ്രേഷ്ഠനും അരുൾചെയ്തു:--
"ഉത്തമ-പുരുഷന്റെ ലീലകൾ കേൾപ്പാൻ തവ
ചിത്തത്തിൽ അഭിലാഷം വർദ്ധിച്ചു വരികയാൽ 70
ഉത്തമാന്മാരിലേറ്റം ഉത്തമനല്ലോ ഭവാൻ
മുക്തിയും ലഭിച്ചീടും--ഇല്ല സംശയമേതും.
നല്ലൊരു ഹരികഥ കേൾക്കുന്ന ജനങ്ങൾക്കും
ചൊല്ലുന്ന ജനങ്ങൾക്കും ചൊല്ലുവാൻ ചൊല്ലുന്നോർ ക്കും
കല്യാണങ്ങളും വരും മോക്ഷവും ലഭിച്ചീടും
ചൊല്ലുവനതുകൊണ്ടു കേട്ടുകൊണ്ടാലും ഭവാൻ.
ദേവദാനവയുദ്ധേ മരിച്ചോരസുരന്മാർ
കേവലം മനുഷ്യരായൂഴിയിൽ പിറക്കയാൽ
ഭാരത്തെസ്സഹിയാഞ്ഞു ഭൂമിയുമൊരുദിനം
സാരസോദ് ഭവനോടു സങ് കടം ഉണർത്തിച്ചാൾ. 80
അന്നേരം വിരിഞ്ചനും ചന്ദ്രശേഖരൻതാനു--
മിന്ദ്രാദി ദേവകളും മാമുനിജനങ്ങളും
ഒന്നിച്ചു നിരൂപിച്ചു ഭൂമിയോടോരുമിച്ചു
ചെന്നുടൻ ക്ഷീരാംബുധി തന്നുടെ തീരം പുക്കു
ആശയശുദ്ധിയോടും പൂരുഷസൂക്തം കൊണ്ടു
കേശവൻ തന്നെ സ്തുതി ചെയ്തങ്ങു നിൽക്കുന്നേരം
സാരമായോരു വാക്കു പത്മജൻ മാത്രം കേട്ടു
പാരാതേയതു മറ്റുള്ളവരോടുര ചെയ്താൻ:
"ദേവദേവന്റെ വാക്യം കേൾപ്പിനിന്നെല്ലാവരും
'കേവലം ഭൂമിഭാരം തീർപ്പ'നെന്നരുൾ ചെയ്തു 90
ധന്യനാം വസുദേവനാകിയ യാദവന്റെ
നന്ദനനായവതരിയ് ക്കും നാരായണൻ.
തന്നുടെ പൂർവജനായ് ശ്ശേഷനും ജനിച്ചീടും;
കന്യകാരൂപത്തോടു മായയും പിറന്നീടും.
ദേവകളെല്ലാവരും യാദവാന്വയത്തിങ്കൽ
ദേവദേവനെപ്പൂജിച്ചീടുവാൻ ജനിയ് ക്കേണം.
മാനുഷനാരിമാരായ് ജ്ജനിച്ചു സുരസ്ത്രീകൾ
ദാനവവൈരിതന്നെശ്ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തീടേണം."
എന്നെല്ലാം നിയോഗിച്ചു പത്മജൻ ഭൂമീദേവി--
തന്നെയും ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചാത്മലോകവും പുക്കാൻ. 100

My paternal grandfathers, King Dharmaputhra and his brothers effortlessly crossed the ocean of the Kaurava army infested with ferocious crocodiles like Bheeshma, DrOna etc, as if they were crossing the water collected in a small pit formed by the hoof of a cow. Then they conquered the kingdom and lived there happily. When my body (in my mother's womb) was burning by the arrows of DrONAchAryA's son ( AsvaththhAma) Lord protected me and prevented the cessation of the lineage of Puru dynasty. When I think about it, I can see that all these events happened only by the compassionate grace of Lord Krishna.
61-62

How will I ever be satisfied by listening to the stories of such a Lord?
63-66

Even though I have not been drinking even a drop of water in between, I do not feel any discomfort due to thirst because I am continuously drinking the nectar of the stories of MAdhava, flowing from your lotus face.
67-68

Listening to these words of the king, the great sage was very pleased and said:

You are more perfect than the most perfect human beings and undoubtedly you will get spiritual liberation because your mind has an increasing desire to listen to the pastimes of the Supreme Lord.
73-76

All the people who listen to the stories of Shree Hari, all those who narrate His stories and even all those who request others to narrate them will receive auspicious blessings and also will attain liberation. So, I will tell those stories and you kindly listen to them carefully.
77-80

All AsurAs or demons who had died in the wars between DEvAs and AsurAs were born again as humans on earth. When Mother Earth could not bear the burden anymore (of those evil people) , she informed Lord Brahma about her sad plight.
81-88

Then Lord Brahma, Lord Shiva, DEvEndra, other Gods and all the great sages discussed the crisis, and along with mother Earth, went to the banks of the milky ocean. With a pure mind, when they prayed to Lord KEshava chantingPurushasooktham, only Lord Brahma could hear the important message (that came from BhagavAn ) and He immediately shared that with the others accompanying Him.
89-98

"Please listen to the words of the Lord of Lords. He promised that He would alleviate the suffering of Mother Earth. Lord NArAyaNa will incarnate as the son of a YAdava, the blesssed VasudEva.
Lord ShEsha or Anantha will take birth as His elder brother, YOgamAya will take birth as a girl and all dEvAs shall take birth in the YAdava families to serve the Lord of Lords. Divine damsels shall take birth as women on earth and shall serve the Lord, the enemy of AsurAs."
99-100

After sharing these instructions (received from BhagavAn) Lord Brahma consoled Mother Earth and returned to His own abode.
