DaShamam Kilippaattu Part 4, Chapter 1, lines 153-210

ശ്രീ ഗുരുപവനപുരേശായ നമ:

ശ്രീ പുറയന്നൂർ പരമേശ്വര ഭക്തകവയേ  നമ:

ശ്രീ ഗുരുഭ്യോ നമ:

ഇത്തരമോരോതരം വിസ്തരിച്ചുരചെയ്തു 

ചിത്തത്തിലവനേതുമേൽക്കാഞ്ഞു വസുദേവൻ 

പിന്നെയും വിചാരിച്ചു ചൊല്ലിനാ, "നെങ്കിൽ കേൾ  നീ 

ഇന്നിവൾതങ്കൽനിന്നു മൃത്യുവില്ലല്ലോ തവ.

പുത്രന്മാരിവൾ പെറ്റിട്ടുണ്ടാകുന്നവരെല്ലാം 

എത്രയും വൈകാതെ ഞാൻ നിനക്കു തന്നീടുവൻ;

വിശ്വൈകസാക്ഷിയാകും ആദിത്യൻ തന്നാണത് 

വിശ്വസിച്ചാലും മമ ഭാഷിതം സത്യമത്രേ !"                          160 

എന്നതു കേട്ടനേരം കംസനും വസുദേവൻ 

തന്നുടെ സത്യമോർത്തിട്ടങ്ങിനെ തന്നെയെന്നാൻ.

സോദരി തന്നെപ്പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു  പുരി പുക്കു 

മോദേന വസിച്ചതു, ശൌരിയും ഗേഹം പുക്കാൻ.

ഓരാണ്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ദേവകി പെറ്റീടിനാൾ

ചാരുതേജോമയനാം നല്ലൊരു കുമാരനെ.

സഹിച്ചു കൂടാതൊരു ദു:ഖമുണ്ടെന്നാകിലും 

മഹത്വമുണ്ടാകയാൽ അസത്യഭയത്തിനാൽ 

ഉത്തമൻ വസുദേവൻ പുത്രനെയെടുത്തുടൻ 

സത്വരം കംസൻ തന്റെ കരത്തിൽ നൽകീടിനാൻ.         170 

ഉത്തമനായ ശൌരിതന്നുടെ സത്യം കണ്ടു 

ചിത്തമോദേന കംസനിത്തരം ചൊല്ലീടിനാൻ:

" ഉത്തമൻ ഭവാനത്രേ  പക്കൽനിന്നു 

മൃത്യുഭീതിയുമെനിയ്ക്കില്ലല്ലോ മഹാമതേ!

ആകയാലഷ്ടമനാം പുത്രനെത്തന്നാൽ പോരും 

ശോകവും കളഞ്ഞിനി വാഴ് ക  നീ പുത്രനോടും."

 എന്നുരചെയ് തു പുത്രൻ തന്നെയും നൽകീടിനാൻ 

നന്ദിച്ചു വാങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടു ശൌരിയും ഗൃഹം പുക്കാൻ.

ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ചിത്തം ചഞ്ചലമാകകൊണ്ടു 

തുഷ്ടിയും വസുദേവനൊട്ടുമേ  വന്നീലല്ലോ. 180

ബ്രഹ്മനന്ദനനായ നാരദൻ അതുകാലം 

ദുർമ്മതിയായുള്ളൊരു കംസനോടരുൾ ചെയ് തു: 

"നന്ദഗോപാദികളായുള്ളൊരു ഗോപന്മാരും 

മന്നവ, യശോദാദിഗോപികാജനങ്ങളും 

സുന്ദരി ദേവക്യാദിയാകിയ നാരിമാരും 

എന്നിവരെല്ലാം ദേവവംശമെന്നറിഞ്ഞാലും 

ഇന്നു നീ കാലനേമിയായ ദാനവനല്ലോ.

നിന്നുടെ സചിവന്മാരാകിയ ദേവാദികൾ 

മന്നിൽ വന്നുദ് ഭവിച്ച ദാനവരവരല്ലോ. 189

ആദിതേയന്മാർ അപേക്ഷിയ് ക്കയാൽ നാരായണൻ 

യാദവാന്വയത്തിങ്കൽ ദേവകീതനയനായ് 

വന്നവതരിച്ചുടൻ  നിന്നെയും വധിച്ചീടും 

മന്ദനായിരിയ് ക്ക നീ, ഞാനിതാ ഗമിയ് ക്കുന്നേൻ ."

എന്നരുൾ ചെയ് തു   മുനി പോയോരുശേഷം കംസൻ

നന്നു നന്നെന്നു പറഞ്ഞെത്രയും കോപത്തോടേ 

ദേവകിയ് ക്കുളവായ പുത്രനെക്കൊന്നീടിനാൻ;

ദൈവകൽപ്പിതം ആർക്കും തടുക്കാൻ അരുതല്ലോ.

ആറു  വത്സരം കൊണ്ടങ്ങാറു പുത്രന്മാരുണ്ടായ് 

നാരിമാർ മണിയാകും ദേവകി; യ് ക്കവരെല്ലാം 

അന്നന്നു  തന്നേ കംസൻ  ചെന്നങ്ങു വധിച്ചിതു;  200

ഖിന്നത പൂണ്ടു വസുദേവനും വാണീടിനാൻ.

പിന്നെത്തൻ  ഭഗിനിയാം  ദേവകീദേവിയേയും

ഖിന്നനാം വസുദേവൻതന്നെയും മഹാശഠൻ 

തന്നുടെ താതനേയും ശൂരനാം യദുപതി-

തന്നെയും ബന്ധിച്ചിതു ചങ്ങലകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ.

രാജഭോഗങ്ങളനുഭവിച്ചു ദുഷ്ടന്മാരാൽ 

പൂജിതനായ കംസൻ വാണിതു സുഖത്തോടും.

VasuDEva explained thus in detail and seeing that Kamsa was still not convinced, thought about it more and continued:

"Listen to this. DEvaki is not going to kill you. I promise that as soon as the children are born, I will give them all to you. I am saying these words with Lord Sun as my witness and kindly believe my truthful words.

When Kamsa heard VasudEva's words, he felt that he was truthful and agreed with him. After sending Devaki home, Kamsa also went home. Then VasudEva or Shouri also went home. 

Lines 165-172

After one year, Devaki gave birth to a beautiful and effulgent boy. Even though  he was sad to give away the child into Kamsa's hands, the virtuous VasudEva did so because he was afraid of the consequence of breaking his sworn promise. Kamsa was pleased and moved by the truthful nature of VasudEva and told thus:

"Oh! MahaamathE! You are a truthful gentleman. I am not afraid of death by this child’s hands. So it is enough if you give me only your eighth son.  Do not be sad. Go and live happily with your son." Saying thus Kamsa gave VasudEva's son back and thanking him, VasudEva accepted the boy and went home. 

Lines 179- 194

Knowing  the fickle nature of evil minds, VasudEva could not remain very happy. During that time, Narada Muni, Lord Brahma's son, spoke to the evil Kamsa:

“O,  King! All the GOpaas including NandagOpar , all gOpikaas starting from Yashoda, all the YAdavAs like VasudEva and others and all the beautiful women like dEvaki belong to the family of dEvAs and you are none other than the asura called KAlanEmi, who has taken birth as Kamsa. All your assistants are also AsurAs  born on the earth. As per the request of dEvaas, the sons of Adithi, Lord NArAyaNa will incarnate  as Devaki's son in the YAdava family and will kill you. You can remain as stupid as you are and I am leaving".

After NArada Muni's departure, saying “I am happy to get this advise (not let any of DEvaki’s children alive)”, angry Kamsa went out and killed Devaki's new-born son. This shows that nobody can reverse the decisions of God!

Lines 199- 210

During the next six years DEvaki gave birth to six more sons and Kamsa killed each one of them the same day as they were born. VasuDEva remained extremely sad. Afterwards, that evil Kamsa put VasudEva, DEvaki,  his own father Ugrasena and the YAdava chief ShoorasEna, in jail and put them in chains. Then he lived happily enjoying all the kingly pleasures. Thus I (the poet) brings to an end the First Chapter of my narration and if you are really interested I will continue my narration and please listen.
