ഇങ്ങിനെ നന്ദഗോപൻതന്നുടെ ഗൃഹംതന്നിൽ
മങ് ഗളം നൽകീടുന്ന ഭഗവാൻ നാരായണൻ
ബാലകവേഷം പൂണ്ടു വാണോരു കാലത്തിങ്കൽ
മാലോകർക്കെല്ലാം ഉള്ളിൽ ആനന്ദം വളർന്നൂതേ.
ഗോകുലത്തിങ്കൽ പശുവൃന്ദവും വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും
ചാകയുമില്ല, നാളിൽ നാളിലങ്ങുണ്ടായീടും.
ക്ഷീരവും ഓരോ ഗോക്കൾക്കോരോരോ കുടമുണ്ടു
പാരാതെ മൂന്നുനേരം നിത്യവും കറന്നീടും.
ദുർഭിക്ഷം, ദുർമ്മരണം എന്നിവ കേൾപ്പാനില്ലാ
ദുർഭഗമായ രൂപം എങ്ങുമേ കാണ്മാനില്ലാ. 10
അക്കാലം വാതിൽപ്പുറപ്പാടതു കഴിയ് ക്കാനായ്
ഒക്കെയും ഒരുക്കിനാർ നന്ദനുമെശോദയും.
വാതിലും പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഗോദാനങ്ങളും ചെയ്തു
പ്രീതിയോടകത്തങ്ങു വന്നപ്പോൾ യശോദയും
നല്ലൊരു മെത്തതന്മേൽ കിടത്തി കുമാരനെ
മെല്ലവേ മുലകൊടുത്തുറക്കിപ്പോന്നൂ; പിന്നെ
വന്നൊരു ജനങ്ങളെസ്സൽക്കരിപ്പതിനായി--
സ്സന്നാഹത്തോടുമോരോ കോപ്പുകൾ കൂട്ടുന്നേരം
ദുഷ്ടനായുള്ള ശകടാസുരൻ കംസൻ ചൊല്ലാൽ
പെട്ടെന്നങ്ങൊരു ചാടായ് വന്നിതു മായത്താലേ. 20
ബാലകനുടെ മീതേ വന്നങ്ങു നിന്നീടിനാൻ;
കാലുൻ കുടഞ്ഞൊന്നു കരഞ്ഞൂ കുമാരനും.
ബാലകൻ കരഞ്ഞതു കേട്ടീല യശോദയും
നാലഞ്ചു ബാലകന്മാർ അന്നേരം തത്ര ചെന്നാർ.
പാടലവർണ്ണമാകും ബാലന്റെ പദം തട്ടി
ചാടൊരു നൂറായിരം നുറുങ്ങി വീണൂ ഭുവി.
ദുഷ്ടനാം അസുരനു സൽഗ്ഗതിയതും വന്നു;
കേട്ടിതങ്ങോരു ശബ്ദം ഘോരമായെല്ലാവരും.
എന്തിതെന്നോർത്തു ഭയം പൂണ്ടുടനെല്ലാവരും
അന്ധരായ് കുമാരന്റെ സന്നിധൗ ചെന്നനേരം 30
ഛിന്നമായ് ക്കിടക്കുന്ന ശകടമതും കണ്ടു
മന്ദഹാസവും പൂണ്ട ബാലകനെയും കണ്ടാർ.
എന്തൊരത്ഭുതമെന്നെല്ലാരും പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ
ബന്ധമുണ്ടായതെല്ലാം ബാലന്മാരുരചെയ് താർ.
ചേർച്ചയില്ലിതു പാർത്താൽ എന്നുറച്ചെല്ലാവരും
ഈശ്വരനറിഞ്ഞീടാം എന്നങ്ങു പോയീടിനാർ.
ബാലനെച്ചെന്നു വേഗാൽ എടുത്തു യശോദയും
കാലുകൾ തലോടിത്തൻമുലയും നൽകീടിനാൾ.
രക്ഷിയ് ക്ക നാരായണൻ എന്നുരചെയ് തു പല
രക്ഷകൾ ചെയ് യിപ്പിച്ചു വിപ്രേന്ദ്രന്മാരെക്കൊണ്ടും. 40
അങ്ങിനെ ചെറ്റുകാലം കഴിഞ്ഞോരനന്തരം
അന്നൊരു ദിനം നന്ദപത്നിയാം യശോദയും
തന്നുടെ ശയ് യ തന്മേലിരുത്തിക്കുമാരനെ
തന്നുടെ മടിതന്നിൽക്കിടത്തി മുല നൽകി;
ചന്ദ്രബിംബാഭിരാമമാകിയ വദനവും
മന്ദഹാസവും കണ്ടങ്ങാദരിച്ചിരിയ് ക്കുന്പോൾ
ബാലകൻതന്റെ ഘനം സഹിച്ചുകൂടായ് കയാൽ
ബാലയാം അവൾ തത്ര കിടത്തിപ്പതുക്കവേ.
അന്നേരം തൃണാവർത്തനാകിയ മഹാസുരൻ
വന്നിതു ചക്രവാതരൂപമായ് കംസൻചൊല്ലാൽ. 50
Chapter 7, Lines 1- 10

Thus, when Bhagavan Narayana, disguised as a young boy , lived in NandagOpA's house bestowing blessings on all, , everybody's heart was filled with happiness. None of the cows and trees that belonged to GOkulam died, but only increased in number. Each cow gave a big pot of milk and they were milked three times a day. There was no shortage of anything and death due to accidents were unheard of. Also no sort of ugly or unattractive beings were ever seen anywhere.

During that time, Nandan and YaShOda got ready to perform the first ritual called "Bringing the baby out the door" (of the delivery room). They brought the baby out ceremoniously and gave away lots of cows to deserving recipients. When they came inside again, they had the baby lie down on a comfortable bed and YaShOda slowly breast-fed Him. He fell asleep and afterwards YaShOda came out.

When she was quickly getting ready to welcome guests, as per the order of Kamsa, the evil ShakatAsura, disguised as a chariot (Shakatam), suddenly appeared there as if by magic and stood very near the baby (with some parts of the chariot staying just above the baby's legs).
After some time, the baby shook His legs and started crying. YaShOda did not hear His crying, but a few young GOpAs ran to Him. When the tender legs of the baby hit the chariot, it broke into thousands of pieces and fell on the ground. As the Asura got liberation, all the people (assembled there) heard a horrible, huge noise.
Lines 29-36

Everybody was afraid and they wondered what sound it was. When they all ran towards Krishna, they saw the chariot completely broken into numerous pieces. When young GOpAs explained what had actually happened, it did not make any sense to them,. Since they could not believe what they heard from the boys, they consoled themselves by saying " only God knows what happened" and went back home.

YaShOda quickly came there, picked the baby up, started feeding Him and she fondly comforted Him by slowly stroking His legs. Then she had a few Brahmins come over there and do auspicious prayers for obtaining Lord Narayana's protection for the baby (in view of what had happened just before).

After some time, one day, Nanda's wife YaShOda was sitting on her bed with Krishna on her lap, and she started feeding him. While enjoying the beauty of His moon-like face and enchanting smile, she suddenly felt that she could no longer bear the weight of the baby. So she slowly put him down. At that time, as per the order of Kamsa, demon Thrunaavarttha came there, disguising himself as a terrible tornado.
