"ദേഹികളുടെ ചിത്തം രമിപ്പിച്ചതുമൂലം

രോഹിണീതനയനു രാമനെന്നല്ലോ നാമം.

ഇന്നിവനോളം ബലം ആർക്കുമേ ഉണ്ടാകയി--

ല്ലെന്നതുകൊണ്ടു  ബലഭദ്രനെന്നൊരു നാമം. 

കണ്ടവരുടെ ചിത്തം ആകർഷിച്ചതുമൂലം 

ഉണ്ടാകും സങ്കർഷണൻ എന്നൊരു നാമം പിന്നെ.

കൃഷ്ണവർണ്ണത്തെപ്പൂണ്ട നന്ദനൻ അവനുടൻ 

കൃഷ്ണനെന്നൊരു നാമം ഇക്കാലം പറയേണ്ടൂ.

മുന്നമങ്ങൊരു കാലം ബാലനാമിവൻതന്നെ  

വന്നുടൻ വസുദേവപുത്രനായ്പ്പിറക്കയാൽ  60

ചൊല്ലിടാം വാസുദേവൻ എന്നൊരു നാമം കൂടി 

ചൊല്ലിടാനരുതിവൻതന്നുടെ നാമമെല്ലാം.

നാമങ്ങൾ കർമ്മങ്ങളും ജന്മങ്ങളിവയെല്ലാം 

സീമയില്ലിതുമിവനെന്നതേ പറയാവൂ!

ദുഃഖങ്ങളോരോതരം  നിങ്ങൾക്കു വന്നീടുന്ന--

തൊക്കവേ തീർക്കും ഇവൻ എന്നതു ധരിച്ചാലും.

വിശ്വസിച്ചാലും നിങ്ങൾ ഇവനെ വഴിപോലെ;

ശാശ്വതം അതുകൊണ്ടു  സർവവും സിദ്ധിച്ചീടും.

വിസ്തരിച്ചേറെപ്പറയുന്നതെന്തിനു  ഞാനും 

ഉത്തമപുരുഷനു തുല്യനായ് വരുമിവൻ." 70

എന്നെല്ലാം ഉരചെയ്തു ഗർഗ്ഗനും എഴുന്നള്ളി;

നന്ദഗോപനും ഏറ്റം സന്തോഷത്തോടു വാണാൻ.

മുട്ടുകൾ കുത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു ബാലന്മാർ അതുകാലം 

ഒട്ടൊട്ടു നടന്നിട്ടും വീണിട്ടും ഇടയ് ക്കിടെ 

സഞ്ചരിപ്പതുകണ്ടു കൌതുകത്തോടുകൂടി--

ച്ചഞ്ചലാക്ഷിമാർ എടുത്തീടുവാൻ ചെല്ലുന്നേരം 

നന്മധു പൊഴിയുന്ന പുഞ്ചിരിയോടും ചെന്ന--

ങ്ങമ്മമാരുടെ മടി തന്നിലങ്ങിരുന്നീടും.

ചേറുകളണിഞ്ഞതു  തുടച്ചു ജനനിമാർ 

കൂറോടു മുല കൊടുത്താനന്ദിച്ചിരുന്നീടും. 80

പിന്നെയങ്ങവർ  പശുപാലന്മാരുടെ പിന്പേ 

ചെന്നീടും വേഗത്തോടു മുട്ടുകാൽ കുത്തിത്തന്നെ

ചെന്നുടൻ പശുബാലൻതന്നുടെ വാലുതന്മേൽ 

ഒന്നിച്ചു പിടിപെട്ടു മന്ദമായ് വലിച്ചീടും.

അന്നേരം പശുബാലന്മാർ ഓടീടുന്നതു കണ്ടു 

പിന്നാലെച്ചെല്ലുന്നേരം വീണീടും ഇടയ് ക്കിടെ.

നന്ദനും അതുകണ്ടു ചെന്നെടുത്താശ്ലേഷിച്ചു 

തന്നുടെ പുത്രന്മാർക്കു വല്ലതും കൊടുത്തീടും.

മന്ദഹാസവും ചെയ്തു ചൊല്ലീടും ഓരോന്നവർ 

ഒന്നുമേ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞീടുവാൻ അരുതാർക്കും. 90

അച്ഛനെന്നതും അമ്മയെന്നതും തിരിഞ്ഞീടും 

ഒച്ചകൾ കേൾക്കുന്നതും ഉത്സവം എല്ലാവർക്കും.

അവ്യക്തവർണ്ണങ്ങളാം വാക്കുകൾ കേൾക്കുന്നേരം 

സുവ്യക്താക്ഷരവാക്യം നിഷ്ഫലം എന്നു തോന്നും.

അങ്ങിനെ ചെറുതുനാൾ ചെന്നോരു ശേഷമവർ 

മങ് ഗളപാദാംബുജസഞ്ചാരം ചെയ് തുവന്നാർ.

നാലഞ്ചു പദം വെയ് ക്കുന്നേരത്തു പതിയ് ക്കയും

ബാലന്മാർ ചിലരപ്പോൾ ചെന്നങ്ങു പിടിയ് ക്കയും 

പിന്നെയുമവർ പിടിച്ചൊട്ടൊട്ടു നടന്നീടും 

നന്ദനും ജനനിയും കണ്ടുകണ്ടാനന്ദിയ് ക്കും.  100

Chapter 8, Lines 51 - 100

"Since He is pleasing to the minds of all the people, ROhini’s son is named as RAma (ram= to please -in samskR^tam). He has unparalleled strength. So He will also be known as Balabhadra. As He attracts the mind of those who look at him,  SankarashaNa will be another name for Him. Nanda's other son who has dark complexion is named as Krishna. Since He was born as VasudEva's son, he is also known as VAsudEva. It is impossible to mention all His names because His names are endless. The only thing we can say is that there is no limit for the number of names He is known by, for the number of actions He will perform and the number of times He has taken birth in the human realm."

Lines 65-72

" Please understand that He will remove all your sorrows. Please trust Him the way He should be trusted. He is Eternal and hence If you trust Him you will receive everything (you need). Why should I go in to more details ? There is nobody more perfect than Him.  He is perfection personified. Saying the above words, sage Garga took leave of them and NandaGopa lived very happily afterwards.

Chapter 8, Lines 73-80

Those boys (Balarama and Krishna) started moving about on their knees and often fell down and tried to stand up on their own. Seeing them moving in this manner, when some GOpikaas eagerly approached them to pick them up, they crawled away fast and sat on the laps of their mothers, giving the sweet honey of happiness to the onlookers from their smiling lips. The Mothers wiped off all the dirt on their body and experienced bliss by  breast-feeding them affectionately.

Lines 81-94

Then, moving fast on their knees, Krishna and Balaraama would go after the calves. Together they would hold the tail of the calves and pull them towards them. Then the calves ran away fast, they would follow them and sometimes they would fall. Seeing this, Nandan would pick them up, hug them and give them something (to eat or play with). With a smile they would utter words,  but hardly anybody could understand anything.  Only two words, father and mother, were clearly pronounced. But everybody celebrated any sound that they spoke (even though most of them did not make much sense). While listening to their unclear syllables and words,  even clear words and sentences seemed meaningless or futile. (Their unclear words were so sweet that people felt that listening to those words gave them more happiness than listening to meaningful words and sentences).

Lines 95-100

After some time Krishna and Balaraama started walking on their lotus-like feet. But after taking four or five steps, they would fall and some people would go and hold them. Then again they would try to walk and Nandan and YaShOda enjoyed watching them learn how to walk.
