ശ്രീമഹാഭാഗവതം ദശമം കേരളഭാഷാഗാനം  —  അദ്ധ്യായം  — 18

അക്കാലം കൃഷ്ണൻ താനും രാമനും ബാലന്മാരും ഗോക്കളോടൊരുമിച്ചു പുക്കിതു വൃന്ദാവനം.
ഊഷ്മാക്കൾകൊണ്ടു  ജീവജന്തുക്കൾ തപിച്ചീടും ഗ്രീഷ്മകാലവും വന്നു സൂര്യനും ജ്വലിയ് ക്കുന്നു.
മാധവനായ ദേവൻ തത്ര വാഴുകമൂലം മാധവമാസമെന്നു നിനച്ചു ഗോപന്മാരും.
ഓരോരോ ക്രീഡ ചെയ് തുകൊണ്ടെല്ലാവരും പാരം ആനന്ദംപൂണ്ടു കാനനേ വസിയ് ക്കുന്പോൾ 

ചൊല്ലിനാൻ കൃഷ്ണൻതാനും:--  "ഈരണ്ടു ജനം തമ്മിൽ തല്ലേണം എല്ലാവരും തന്നുടെ തരംപോലെ.            10
പിന്നാക്കം മടങ്ങുകിൽ ആയവൻ മറ്റേവനെ--ത്തന്നുടെ ചുമലിലങ്ങെടുത്തു നടക്കേണം.
അങ്ങിനെ തന്നെയെന്നു ബാലന്മാരെല്ലാവരും തിങ്ങിന മോദത്തോടും തല്ലുകൾ തുടങ്ങിനാർ.
അന്നേരം പ്രലംബനെന്നുള്ളൊരു മഹാസുരൻ വന്നിതു ഗോപവേഷം കൈക്കൊണ്ടു മോദത്തോടും.

കാകപക്ഷന്മാരായ കൃഷ്ണനും രാമൻതാനും വേഗമോടറിഞ്ഞിതു, മറ്റാരും അറിഞ്ഞീല.
ഇങ്ങിനെ കളിച്ചിട്ടും തങ്ങളിൽ എടുത്തിട്ടും അങ്ങവർ ഭാണ്ഡീരകം ആയൊരു വടമൂലേ                            20
ചെന്നു പിന്നെയും ഏവം കളിയ് ക്കും നേരത്തിങ്കൽ നന്ദനന്ദനൻ ശ്രീദാമാവിനെ വഹിച്ചൂതേ.
ഭദ്രസേനനും പിന്നെ വൃഷഭൻതന്നെ, ബ്ബലഭദ്രനെ പ്രലംബനാം ദാനവൻ ഏറ്റിക്കൊണ്ടാൻ.

നന്ദനന്ദനൻതന്നെ വഹിച്ചുകൂടായെന്നു തന്നുള്ളിൽ നിരൂപിച്ചു ദൈത്യനും കോപത്തോടെ.
രാമനെയെടുത്തുകൊണ്ടാകാശേ ചെന്നു ദൈത്യൻ ഭീമരൂപവും പ്രകാശിപ്പിച്ചു നിന്നനേരം 
ഒന്നുപേടിച്ചു രാമൻ പിന്നെത്തന്നുടെ തത്വം തന്നുള്ളിൽ നിരൂപിച്ചു കോപിച്ചു വേഗത്തോടും        30
മുഷ്ടികൾകൊണ്ടു ദൈത്യൻതന്നുടെ ശിരസ്സിങ്കൽ ഘട്ടനം ചെയ്തനേരം ജീവനം വേർപെട്ടവൻ 
വജ്രമേറ്റദ്രിപോലെ ഭൂമിയിൽ വീണീടിനാൻ;വിജ്വരന്മാരായ് വന്നു ബാലന്മാരതുനേരം.

നന്ദിച്ചു ദേവന്മാരും പുഷ്പവൃഷ്ടിയും ചെയ്താ--രൊന്നിച്ചു ബാലന്മാരും രാമനെത്തഴുകിനാർ.
നന്നു നന്നെന്നു പുകഴ് ത്തീടിനാൻ  കൃഷ്ണൻ താനും ഇന്നു ഞാൻ പതിനെട്ടാം അദ്ധ്യായം ചൊല്ലീടിനേൻ.    38

 Chapter 18, Lines 1-12

Once Krishna, RAma and the young GOpAs went into Vrindavanam along with their cows. It was summer time and  the bright sun was shining. All the humans and animals were suffering due to the extreme heat. Since Lord Madhava was with them, GOpAs saw that season as the Madhava  or spring season. They all were engrossed in different leelAs and while they were happily living like that in the forest, Krshna said:

"We should form several groups with two in each group and those two should fight with each other. The loser should carry the winner on his shoulders and walk around."

Lines 13-38

All the boys agreed to abide by Krishna's instructions and they started fighting playfully with each other. During that time an Asura called Pralamba came there disguising himself as a GOpa.  Krishna and Rama were very perceptive and they immediately knew that Pralambasura was tricking them, but nobody else knew about it. They fought with each other as Krishna told them to and they reached the shade of a big banyan (arayAl in Malayalam) tree and continued playing there. 

Krishna carried SreedAma, BhadrasEna carrried Vrishabha and PralambAsura carried Balabhadra. Pralamba was angry because he did not get a chance to carry Krishna. So, carrying Rama he rose up in the sky and stood there showing his original huge form. 
At first Rama was afraid, but soon he realized who his carrier was and angrily hit him on his head with his strong fist. Soon the Asura  lost his life and fell down on the ground like a mountain hit by lightning.

All the boys felt relieved to see the Asura falling. The DEvAs showered divine flowers on Rama and all the boys embraced him. Krishna praised Rama by saying “well done, well done". 

Thus I have finished narrating the eighteenth chapter.
