പുറയന്നൂർ ഭാഗവതം ദശമം കിളിപ്പാട്ട്  --  അദ്ധ്യായം 22 

 "അത്ര വന്നീടുന്നാകിൽ ചേലകൾ നൽകീടുവൻ 

മത്തകാശിനിമാരേ സത്യമെന്നറിഞ്ഞാലും.

എല്ലാരും ഒരുമിച്ചു വന്നാൽ ഞാൻ കുഴങ്ങീടും 

മെല്ലവേയോരോ ജനം  വന്നു കൂറകൾ കൊൾവിൻ."

എന്നതു കേട്ടനേരം ഗോപിമാരെല്ലാവരും 

അന്യോന്യം നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു ലജ്ജയാ ചൊല്ലീടിനാർ:-

"ഇത്തരം ലഘുത്വങ്ങൾ കാട്ടരുതല്ലോ ഭവാൻ 

ഉത്തമനായ ഗോപരാജന്റെ സുതനല്ലോ.  

നിന്നുടെ ദാസീജനം അല്ലയോ ഞങ്ങളെല്ലാം;

ഇന്നു നീ ചൊന്നവണ്ണം കേൾക്കുന്ന  ജനമല്ലോ. 40

എന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ശീഘ്രം ചേലകൾ തരിക നീ;

നന്ദനോടുരചെയ് യും അല്ലായ്കിൽ അറിഞ്ഞാലും."

എന്നതു കേട്ട നേരം കൃഷ്ണനും ഉരചെയ് താൻ:-- 

"ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളും എന്റെ ദാസിമാരെന്നാകിലോ 

ചൊന്നതു പോലെ കേട്ടു ചേലകൾ വാങ്ങീടുവിൻ 

ഇന്നു ഞാൻ തരികയില്ലല്ലായ്കിലറിഞ്ഞാലും.

നന്ദനോടുരചെയ് താലെന്തു ചെയ് തീടും താതൻ?"

എന്നതു  കേട്ടവരും ലജ്ജയാ പുറപ്പെട്ടാർ. 

ഹസ്തങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടുതന്നേ ഗുഹ്യദേശവും ഏറ്റം 

പൊത്തിക്കൊണ്ടാലിൻ കീഴേ വന്നൊരുനേരം കൃഷ്ണൻ  50

ശുദ്ധഭാവത്തെക്കണ്ടും തങ്കലെ പ്രേമം കണ്ടും 

ബദ്ധമോദേന  ഗോപനാരിമാരോടു ചൊന്നാൻ:--

"വസ്ത്രം കൂടാതെ ചെന്നു  വെള്ളത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങിയ--

തെത്രയും ഹരിനിന്ദയായ് വന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കെല്ലാം.

എന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ശിരസ്സ്യഞ്ജലിബന്ധം ചെയ് തു 

മന്ദമെന്നിയേ നിജവസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ വാങ്ങിക്കൊൾവിൻ !!"

എന്നതുകേട്ടവരെല്ല്ലാമോരോരോ കരംകൊണ്ടു 

വന്ദിച്ചനേരം കൃഷ്ണൻ ഇത്തരം ഉരചെയ് തു.

"എകഹസ്തങ്ങൾകൊണ്ടു ദേവനെ വന്ദിയ് ക്കിലോ 

വൈകാതെ മറ്റേ ഹസ്തം മുറിച്ചു കളയേണം 

എന്നുചൊല്ലുന്നു മുനിവർഗ്ഗവും ശാസ്ത്രങ്ങളും

എന്നതുകൊണ്ടു രണ്ടുകൈകൊണ്ടും കൂപ്പീടുവിൻ !"   62

Chapter 22, Lines 31 — 62

"Shining ladies, if you come over here, I will give back your clothes. I am telling you the truth. I will be in trouble if all of you come at the same time. So come out of the water to me one by one and get your clothes. "

Hearing these words the young women felt extremely shy and looking at each other, they said:

"Respectable You are the son of the chief of GOpAs and do not do such silly things. We are your servants and we always listen to what you say. So kindly give us our clothes quickly.Otherwise we are going to complain to Nanda."

Then Krishna said:

"You told me that you are my servants. Now come and get the clothes as I instructed you. Otherwise I am not going to give back the clothes. Even if you tell my father what is he going to do?"

Then, even though they were bashful, they all came out of water. They covered their loins as much as possible and stood under the banyan tree. 

Krishna was very pleased to see their pure, innocent nature and deep love for him and told them:

Playing in the water without clothes on is equivalent to not respecting Lord Vishnu.  So please pay respect to me by keeping both your folded hands on your head and slowly take back your clothes”.

When they heard Krishna's words, they paid respect with one hand on their head (and hiding their loins as much as possible with the other hand). Then Krishna said:

"If you worship the Lord by just one palm, the rule is that the other hand should be cut off. This is prescribed by scriptures and declared by sages. So pay respects keeping both of your folded hands on your head in an an^jali mudra."
