There is an ekasloki Raamayanam (Raamyaayanam in one slokam) and it includes all the the story of Raamyanam except what is in Baalakaanda. In Baala kaanda, Dasharatha performs "puthrakaameshti" yaagam and by consuming the prasaadam from the yaagam, all the three wives of Dasharatha get pregnant and four sons were born to them. Raama, Lakshmana, Bharatha and Sathrughna became the joy of Ayodhya. Rama and Lakshmana were taken by Viswamitra to guard his yaagam from demons Maaricha and Subaahu. Later Baalakaanda explains the wedding of Raama and Sitadevi. After coming back to Ayodhya, King Dasharatha prepares for the coronation of Rama as Yuvaraaja and Kaikeyi objects and sends Rama to forest for 14 years.
The remaining kaandaas and the main events are included in the slokam below. Why the baalakaanda was excluded? One explanation is that Raamaayana is Raama's ayanam or journey. That starts when he leaves Ayodhya for the forest. On the other hnad ekasloki Bhaagavatham starts with "Aadou Devakigarbha jananam", that is, with the birth of Krishna because Bhaagavatham is not Krishna's journey, but story! Here is the ekasloki Raamaayanam
"Poorvam Rama Tapovanadi gamanam , hathva mrugam kaanchanam
Vaidehi haranam Jatayu maranam Sugreeva Sambhashanam,
V(B)ali nigrahanam, samudra taranam lanka puri daahanam
Pashchad Ravana Kumbakarna hananam yethaddi Ramayanam
In Ayodhyakaanda, we see "Poorvam Rama Tapovanadi gamanam", Rama leaving Ayodhya to the forest for 14 years accompanied by Sita and laxmana, to honor his father's boon to Kaikeyi. In the Aranyakaanda, "hatva mrugam kanchanam" the slaying of the golden deer, followed by 'Vaidehi haranam" abduction of sita by Ravana and "Jatayu maranam" the death of Jatayu at Ravana's hands.
Kishkinda Kanda starts with "Sugreeva Sambhashanam,V(B)ali nigrahanam". Here Rama meets Sugreeva, makes him his friend and kills his brother V(B)ali.
"Samudra Taranam, Lanka puri Dahanam". This forms the Sundara kaanda. Here we see Lord Hanuman who jumps across the ocean to Lanka, conveys Lord Rama's message to Sita and sets fire to the city of Lanka.
"Pashchaad Ravana Kumbarkarana hananam yettaddi Ramayanam". In yuddha kaanda, Lord crosses the ocean, slays Ravana, Kumbakarna and rescues Sita. Then he returns to Ayodhya after14 years, with Sitadevi.
When we are short of time, imagine Raamaavathaaram and then chant this sloka to remember the whole Raamaayanam.
