Ramayanaparam -16 Sundara and Sundara kandam

Hanumaanji is known by several names like Aanjaneya, meaning
Anjanadevi's son, Maaruthi meaning Vaayu Bhagavan's son, Raamadootha
etc. One of his names he himself did not know until his mother one day
called him by that name. Here is the story:

Valmiki Maharshi wrote Raamaayanam after Raama's abhishekam as the
King. He finished Baala kaandam, Ayodhya kaandam, Aaaranya kaandam and
he wanted to name the next kaandam after Annjaneya because Annjaneya
plays a big role in that part of the story. Even before Valmiki's
thoughts were complete, Aanjaneya appeared before Vaalmiki and told
him that he was only a humble servant of Raama and he did not deserve
the credit of naming a whole chapter of Raamayana after him. Valmiki
agreed and asked him whether he could name that kaandam as Sundara
Kaandam . Hanuman happily agreed because it was the most beautiful
kaandam in Raamayanam and in this kaandam he saw Sitadevi and came
back and told Rama about the good news.

Peacefully he went home. Seeing Hanuman walking towards her, mother
Anjana devi greeted him by calling his pet name "Sundara" which she
very seldom used to address him. For some unknown reason, she was
overwhelmed with his motherly love and called him by the pet name
Sundara" she had given at the time of his birth. Aanjaneya could not
believe his ears.

Aanjaneya rushed back to Valmiki Maharshi and begged him to change the
name of that chapter. But it was too late and Valmiki had finished
wrting that chapter. So, that day Hanumanji learnt that he had another
name Sundara and that name will be there as long as Raamaayana is
there.

And this story adds to the soundaryam of Sundara kandam.

Shathaabishekam

6/21/08 When is Shathaabhishekam celebrated? When it should be celebrated? We have heard about different versions of when it should be celebrated, when you complete 84 years, or when you complete 81 years and 10 months or when you complete 83 years 4 months. Shathaabhishekam is celebrated when a person sees 1000 full moons lives through 1000 full moons in his life. Since it is a mathematical calculation, there should only be one answer. Then how are we having all these three answers? (It really does not matter when you celebrate, but out of curiosity to know the reason behind the celebration, I did some research and I thought some people may share my curiosity. Of all the explanations I read I liked the one given below.)   Here is a convincing explanation based mainly on a question -answer series in Bhakthapriya magazine published by Guruvayur devaswom. For clarity, I am trying to express it as mathematically as possible.   Number of full moons in one year = 12   So n

Chanting can be done like in the naamaavali: Om Vishnave Nama:, Om Janaaardanaaya nama:, Om padmanaabhaaya nama: etc. We will try to analyze the meaning of each name.
