6/18/08 When Sri Rama Bhagavan got the blessing of Vanavaasam or Life in forest for fourteen years from Dasaratha maharaja, he started the journey to the forest with Sita and Lakshmana. Guhan, a forest dweller and great devote of Lord Rama,  helped them to cross River Ganga. Guha wa extremely happy in getting an opportunity to serve Lord Rama. After crossing the Ganga, Rama told Guha:  "Guha! thank you so much for this service and I will never forget your timely help. Since I do not possess anything now, I am unable to give you anything for the service you rendered. I feel sad in leaving you like this with out helping you in any way." Then the wise Guha said:  "Oh Lord! people of the same profession usually do not charge fees each other."  Lord Rama looked at Guha totally perplexed. He continued calmly:  "both Lord and I are in the same profession. You help people to cross the samsaara saagaram or ocean of life and I help ...

11/1/09 The follwoing words of E.M. Foster gives food for thought: "We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us." Let go when we get hurt, let go when things does not work inspite of putting our best effort, let go when we are misunderstood, let go when the darkest memories haunt us and LET US GO CLOSER TO HIM everytime when the "let go" situation arises. It is His plan to keep us closer to Him!

Entrusting our life to the Almighty I read an article by respected Shri Vaidyalinga Sharma in a Malayalam magazine called Bhakthapriya published by Guruvayur devaswom. I would like to share one p oint from that article. It is true for all of us that when we entrust a job or duty to somebody, we feel relieved. We believe in their capability to handle that particular job. For example, we ride a train or fly in an airplane completely trusting the driver's or pilots's ability to run the vehicle. This is true even with a taxi ride. We actually entrust our life to them and sit relaxed, often reading, eating, sleeping or talking to the next person etc. We trust a surgeon to correct or replace our damaged organ and let him take care of us. Another example is of requesting a priest to do pushpaanjali for the family or individual and trust that priest will pray for us.In all these actions we find solace by trusting whom ever we chose to trust. Thank you. On my sixty sixth birthday, I thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday. Yes, you all contributed a lot in giving me a life filled with endless blessings. And above all, God, whom we call by different names and see in different forms, and some by just accepting the presence of that nameless, formless Higher Power, is making me very happy. I feel very happy and grateful to think of all the blessings God has showered on me since my birth sixty six years ago. I sincerely thank Bhagavan and everybody whom I met in my long life for enriching my life in many many ways unknown to all of you and me.
